Alfred Wainwright MBE (17 January 1907 – 20 January 1991) was a British fellwalker, guidebook author and illustrator. His seven-volume Pictorial Guide to the Lakeland Fells, published between 1955 and 1966 and consisting entirely of reproductions of his manuscript, has become the standard reference work to 214 of the fells of the English Lake District. Summiting all of these “Wainwrights” has become a popular form of peak bagging in the Lake District and below is my record of this challenge in the order that I climb them along with their height in metres and feet, the date I first climbed each one and a link to my photo at the summit.

The Pictorial Guide to the Lakeland Fells is available as a collection and is highly recommended.

Stuart Marshall’s ‘Walking The Wainwrights’ which has routes and guides to completing all 214 fells in just 36 walks.
